2013 NBA Trade Deadline Approaches
NBA TRADE DEADLINE APPROACHES
Three p.m. ET is approaching, and you can bet in the last frantic couple of hours there will be a couple more trades happening in the NBA.
Yes, the trade deadline is two hours away. So far there are more trade rumors than actual trades, but the Sacramento Kings just sent rookie Thomas Robinson, their 5th overall pick in the 2012 draft, to the Houston Rockets as part of a three-team deal. The Rockets will send center Cole Aldrich, power forward Patrick Patterson, and Toney Douglas to Sacramento for Robinson, Francisco Garcia, and Tyler Honeycutt. The Rockets will also send Marcus Morris to Phoenix in a trade for a second round draft pick.
Rumors have been flying about Boston Celtic’s star Paul Pierce. It was rumored that the Brooklyn Nets wanted to trade Kris Humphries, guard MarShon Brooks and a first-round pick for Pierce, but Boston felt a better package was needed. This is a continuation of trade talks that were happening this time last year, so it is obvious both teams are interested. Whether they can come to agreement in the next two hours remains to be seen.
The Los Angeles Clippers have their sights set on Boston star Kevin Garnett, and Boston seems to be interested in making this deal, but so far nothing has materialized. It is known that Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro is eager to get this deal done. This is a trade that could very well happen so keep a look out for this one.
