NBA Trade Deadline Looms
NBA Trade Deadline Looms
March 15th Approaches As Teams Make Push For Playoffs
Where in the world will Dwight Howard finish the season? The talented and disgruntled Orlando center seems to be in the news almost daily as the NBA trade deadline approaches and at this point it is anyone’s guess if he will be traded. The L.A. Lakers, once thought to be a lock as his new home, have fallen out of the running according to the latest reports. However, as with all rumors, it remains to be seen whether that is fact or fiction.
In the meantime, Orlando is making every effort to bolster their roster to help Howard should he remain with the team. Orlando is rumored to be very interested in Golden State’s Monta Ellis and there appears to be a better-than-average possibility of that trade happening.
Elsewhere on the trade rumor front, Boston’s Rajon Rondo is apparently on his way somewhere else. Much-publicized disagreements with coach Doc Rivers has Rondo front and center in many trade discussions and it would be no surprise at all to see his name in a trade in the next few days.
Michael Beasley of Minnesota has re-emerged as a possible trade piece with the Lakers, Houston and Boston all interested in him. This was a move that seemed very likely before the season began but for a variety of reasons just did not happen; do not be surprised if it happens sooner rather than later with less than two weeks before the deadline. Minnesota needs to find help for Kevin Love and this trade is almost sure to happen.
No matter what happens it is expected that a large number of players will be changing teams in the next few days, with a flurry of activity likely to begin this week. Stay tuned as the excitement is about to begin.
