NBA Draft Order Decided
NBA Draft Order Decided
Despite the odds against them, the New Orleans Hornets were awarded the top pick in the 2012 NBA draft which will be held June28. There seems to be no doubt that they will select Kentucky center Anthony Davis with that pick.
The biggest disappointment of the night goes to the Charlotte Bobcats, holders of the worst record in the NBA, who had a 25% chance of winning the top pick but instead dropped to number two in the draft. Without a doubt they will get a great return on that high pick but clearly their hopes were pinned on Kentucky’s Davis.
After New Orleans and Charlotte the rest of the top ten picks will look like this:
New Orleans
Charlotte Bobcats
Washington Wizards
Cleveland Cavaliers
Sacramento Kings
Portland
Golden State Warriors
Toronto Raptors
Detroit Pistons
New Orleans
Predicting the NBA draft is always a lesson in frustration because of the inevitable picks out of Europe that nobody could possibly predict, but without a doubt the following players will be chosen fairly soon once the draft begins:
Thomas Robinson, Jr, PF out of Kansas
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Fr, SF, out of Kentucky
Bradley Beal, Fr, SG, out of Florida
Andre Drummond, Fr, C, out of Connecticut
Jared Sullinger, Soph, PF, out of Ohio State
Harrison Barnes, Soph, SF, out of North Carolina
Jeremy Lamb, Soph, SG, out of Connecticut
It will be quite interesting to see which direction Charlotte goes in the draft. They quite literally need help at every position and they could choose to go strong with Robinson or add to their backcourt with Davis’s teammate Gilchrist. Of course, they may shock everyone and go across the Atlantic for their first pick. The answers to all questions will be available on June 28.
