MLB Player Shuffle Continues As Spring Training Nears
As of today thirty-nine of the 181 free agents were still unsigned and in the last three days six players have been traded between Colorado and Baltimore and a host of players have been signed to minor league contracts. Welcome to the world of Major League baseball as teams prepare for Spring Training camps to open within a week.
Make no mistake about it, the action has just begun as teams try to tweak their rosters and find just the right combination of youth and veteran presence in their dugouts. Chances are excellent that those thirty-nine unsigned free agents will find a home within the next couple weeks, and if that is true thirty-nine other signed players will be looking for a new place to hang their gloves and spikes.
Such is the life of a professional athlete. Sure, there are some athletes who are pretty sure where they will be playing; players like Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder know exactly where their lockers will be located and where in the batting order they will be batting, but those players on the fringe will likely be looking over their shoulders until the first day of the 2012 season, wondering if they can finally unpack their bags.
These are busy days for those of us who work in the Sports Relocation business. While players are unpacking their bags we are arranging for the transportation of their vehicles and possessions; we are trying to sell or lease their old homes and find them short-term or long-term housing in their new city. We are putting them in touch with financial experts and finding information on schools for their children and generally doing anything in our power to make their relocation pain and worry free.
And why do these athletes turn to us for their relocation needs? Simply because they trust us! Word spreads through a close-knit community like professional sports. Once a player has established a good working relationship with a company then that player tells another player and another until we at SportsRelocation.com are so busy we don’t have time to watch our favorite players perform on television, and that is just the way we like it. We can always tape the games to watch later; right now our job is to make you, the professional athlete, as comfortable as possible as you prepare for your new season.
Let the games begin! PLAY BALL!
