Miami Heat forward Mike Miller selling home for $9 million
A decision will be made on the NBA season, and it will be made rather soon. Last week, David Stern set a Wednesday 5pm deadline for a deal that essentially amounted to a 50/50 split of basketball related income. We won’t get into the x’s and o’s of that proposal, but it’s much worse than the previous contract players were under. Not surprisingly, the union scoffed at the deal and asked for one more bargaining session before tonight’s deadline. All in all, things are not looking good for a 2011-2012 season–which brings us to our growing list of NBA players unloading their homes.
Miami Heat swingman Mike Miller is selling his swanky Pompano Beach estate for $8.995 million dollars. The 9968-square foot boasts an ocean view, a pool, a private boat dock, 10 bedrooms and 6 baths. According to 2008 county records, property taxes for the home are an astounding $180,661.25. Yes, that’s laughable. Just to give an idea of how outrageous that is, the median household income in the U.S. for 2010 was right around $50k.
Be that as it may, the house is more of a landmark–and an amazing one at that. Take a look at the photos below.
