With the trade of Chris Paul to the L.A. Clippers, the shift of power in the NBA could be felt throughout the League.  The Clippers, for years one of the laughing-stocks of the League, have other teams a bit concerned now with the arrival of Paul and an already talented and improving team.

Paul will join 2009 first round pick Blake Griffen, Chauncey Billups and DeAndre Jordan to form a solid nucleus on which to build for the future, and the future may well start December 25th when this season finally gets underway.  Suddenly the L.A. Lakers are not the only show in town during the NBA season, a remarkable statement considering the history of the Clippers.  League doormats for most of their twenty-seven years in Los Angeles, the Clippers have only made the playoffs four times and only won one playoff series during those four trips to the post season.  Four times they have won less than twenty games and once, in a shortened season, they only won nine games.  Their record of futility is well-documented; however, their fortunes may have changed drastically with the signing of Chris Paul.
