How's the Real Estate Market Doing?

How’s the real estate market doing?

If we had a dollar every time we were asked that question, we could retire and never sell another piece of real estate.

How’s the market doing?

It depends!  How’s that for an answer?

At Sportsrelocation.com, we talk daily to athletes facing athlete relocation, and that means they need to eventually sell their current home and buy a new one.  Some opt for leasing.  Some hold on to their current home and buy one in the new city of employment as well.  And then there are the investors who buy and sell real estate simply for investment purposes.

And almost every one of those clients ask this question:  how’s the market doing?

And it really does depend.  It depends on where you are looking to buy.  Each market is a bit different, so a blanket answer does not cover all.  It depends on the type of property.  Luxury real estate does not always follow market trends.  It depends on your time frame, and how eager you are to buy or sell.  And, of course, it depends on all those outside influences like taxes and governmental regulations.

So, if you asked me how the market was doing in Miami for a ten million dollar home, my answer might be different than if you asked me about a similar home in Malibu.

It just depends, and that is why it is crucial that you work with a real estate agent you can trust, and one who is very knowledgeable about the area in which you are buying or selling.
